Problem 4.7 Projection of Straight Lines – A line AB 60 mm long is parallel to V.P. & H.P. both. The end A is 30 mm above H.P. and 40 mm in front of V.P. Draw the projection of line AB.
Step-1 Draw a horizontal line, which is x-y line of some suitable length.
Step-2 Draw a horizontal line of length equal to its true length, which is 60 mm at the distance 30 mm above the x-y line, and give the notations as a’-b’ as shown in the figure. This is the elevation of the line AB.
Step-3 From the points a’, b’ draw two projectors in down ward direction up to the distance equal to 40 mm below x-y. And mark the points as a-b, as shown in the figure.
Step-4 Draw a line between the points a-b, this is the plan of the line AB.
Step-5 Give the dimensions by any one method of dimensions and give the notations as shown into the figure.
